Turn your P.E. lesson into a high-energy challenge that keeps everyone moving, thinking, and collaborating!

Build the Tower is a small-sided invasion-style game where teams work to complete a passing sequence and then “cash it in” to build a tower.

How it works (quick rules)

  • Play 3v3 or 4v4 on mini-courts (2–3 across a full gym/court).

  • Teams try to complete 5 consecutive passes without losing possession (dribbling can be allowed).

  • When a team reaches 5 passes, one player places 1 brick on the team’s Tower Base, then returns to the game.

  • Defense can intercept/steal safely. After a turnover, the count resets.

🎯 Skills & learning goals

  • Accurate passing + safe receiving under pressure

  • Off-ball movement (spacing, cuts, support)

  • Communication & team decision-making (counting together, calling options)
Small-sided games are widely used to increase engagement and decision-making opportunities through game-like practice.

🧰 Equipment

  • 1 ball per court

  • Tower Base (hoop/mat/tape square)

  • Brick Bank (Jenga blocks or any safe stackable tokens)

🔁 Easy Differentiation

  • Make it easier: 3 passes to score / larger space / allow unlimited dribbles

  • Make it harder: no dribbling/time limit / must include everyone before scoring

  • Adaptation: use handball rules or soccer passing rules (no hands)
