Bring energy, movement, and smart decision-making to your P.E. lesson with Cone Flip Touchdown—a basketball-style game played without dribbling or shooting. Students work together to create space, complete passes, and time their runs into the end zone.
How you score
-
Touchdown = 3 points: catch a pass inside the end zone and place the ball on the floor.
-
Extra point (+1): immediately after scoring, one player gets one cone-flip attempt—if it lands upright, earn +1!
Skill Focus
-
Passing (chest, bounce, overhead) in a dynamic game setting
-
Moving without the ball: spacing, cuts, support (give-and-go)
-
Cooperation & decision-making: when to pass, where to move
-
No-contact defensive awareness: closing passing lanes safely
Quick Setup
-
Mark two end zones (about 2–3 m deep)
-
Play 3v3 or 4v4 on small courts
-
Place one cone per team at an “extra point spot.”
Core Rules
-
No moving with the ball (pivot is OK)
-
Complete at least 3 passes before a touchdown can count
-
Contact, traveling, drops/interceptions, or out-of-bounds = turnover
Teacher-Friendly Variations (Inclusion + Challenge)
-
No-steal / shadow defense rounds
-
Add an Offense Joker who always plays with the team in possession
-
“All-touch” rule (everyone must touch before scoring)
-
5-second stall count to keep the pace
-
Easy handball or soccer adaptations (same end-zone scoring)
